Watch a breaking news report from a Greenpeace protest against the proposed Enbridge oil pipeline.

Twenty-one years ago, the Exxon Valdez ran aground, spilling 40 million litres of crude oil into Prince William Sound and causing irreversible damage. Now, Enbridge wants to bring the same risk to B.C.’s pristine coastal waters and rainforest.

The proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline would carry oil from the tar sands to a port at Kitimat, B.C. Supertankers fed by the Enbridge pipeline would travel the same waters where the Queen of the North ferry sank in 2006.

Tony Whitney of Drivers Seat reviews the all new Nissan Leaf.

The Nissan Leaf (also formatted &quot;LEAF&quot; as acronym for Leading, Environmentally Friendly, Affordable, Family Car) is a compact 5-door hatchback electric car to be produced by Nissan. According to the manufacturer, the Leaf's all-electric range is 100 miles (160 km).

Sales are scheduled to begin in the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, and Portugal in December 2010, and the U.K. and Ireland in February 2011, with global market availability planned for 2012. As the reservation process began for U.S. customers, Nissan announced that availability for December 2010 is limited in quantities and to select markets and initially through online reservations only. The availability will be increased by spring 2011, with full U.S. market rollout planned for 2012.

Because the Leaf is an all-electric car, it has the advantages of producing no tail pipe pollution, lessening dependence on oil, and its total cost of ownership improves in comparison as the price of gasoline rises.[11][12] In January 2010 the Leaf received the Green Car Vision Award by the Green Car Journal.

A world-renowned geneticist, academic and broadcaster, Dr. David Suzuki has spent the past 40 years educating the public about environmental issues, both in the classroom and over the airwaves.

As the long-running host of CBC's The Nature of Things and the author of more than 30 books, Suzuki has been called a 'gladiatorial geneticist' who mixes education with entertainment to get his ideas across to the public. Never one to step down from a fight, the passionate and often controversial Suzuki has earned a well-deserved reputation as an environmental guru for two generations of Canadians.

Renewable Energy Solution of the Month with Peter Sinclair, Producer of Climate Denial Crock of the Week

The renewable energy solution for the month of May is wind energy!

&quot;Many people seem to think dealing with climate change will bring poverty and limit human development.  The truth may be exactly the opposite. Moving to a world of where we aren’t fighting each other over the last few drops of oil, where energy is free, will mean a better life, with greater opportunities even for an expanding population. If we make the right decisions, we could be on the verge of the most prosperous period in human history.&quot;

			<description>
David Beers, Founding Editor of The Tyee, Kevin Grandia, Managing Editor of the DeSmogBlog, Jennifer, aka Ask Umbra, and Climate TV's Kim Thee discuss the documentary No Impact Man and living a sustainable life.

Movie Synopsis:
Colin Beavan decides to completely eliminate his personal impact on the environment for the next year.

It means eating vegetarian, buying only local food, and turning off the refrigerator. It also means no elevators, no television, no cars, busses, or airplanes, no toxic cleaning products, no electricity, no material consumption, and no garbage.

No problem – at least for Colin – but he and his family live in Manhattan. So when his espresso-guzzling, retail-worshipping wife Michelle and their two-year-old daughter are dragged into the fray, the No Impact Project has an unforeseen impact of its own.

Laura Gabbert and Justin Schein's film provides an intriguing inside look into the experiment that became a national fascination and media sensation, while examining the familial strains and strengthened bonds that result from Colin and Michelle’s struggle with their radical lifestyle change.

There’s way more than one video can possibly contain, so a two part series was necessary to even begin to deal with the fountain of disinformation that is Lord Christopher Monckton.

			Debunking Lord Monckton Part 1
with Peter Sinclair

He's everywhere on the climate denial circuit.
He's not a scientist. He's a classics major and journalist.
How is it that he's been able to sell himself to climate deniers as their number one spokesman?
First, like any good salesman, Lord Monckton knows his customer.

Ana Sofia Joanes talks to Kim Thee about her newest documentary, Fresh.

Synopsis:
FRESH is more than a film, it is a reflection of a rising movement of people and communities across America who are re-inventing our food system. FRESH celebrates the food architects who offer a practical vision of a new food paradigm and consumer access to it. Encouraging individuals to take matters into their own hands, FRESH is a guide that empowers people to take an array of actions as energetic as planting urban gardens and creating warm composts from food waste, and as simple as buying locally-grown products and preserving seasonal produce to eat later in the year.

Throughout the film, we encounter the most inspiring people, ideas, and initiatives happening around the country right now. At the Growing Power urban farm in Milwaukee, Will Allen is turning three acres of industrial wasteland into a mecca of nutrition for his neighborhood. In Kansas City, we witness David Ball revitalize his community, turning the modern concept of the Supermarket on its head by stocking his stores with produce from a cooperative of local farmers. And, we journey to Joel Salatin’s farm in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley to witness his methods for closing the nutrient cycle, allowing cows, chickens, pigs and natural grasses to flourish and produce without ever an ounce of chemical fertilizer or industrial animal feed.

FRESH tells the stories of real people, connecting audiences not with facts and figures or apocalyptic policy analysis, but with examples of personal initiative and concrete ways to engage in a new food model.

			Flogging the Scientists
with Peter Sinclair

As a nonscientist, it’s daunting for me to work thru the huge volume of information on global climate change. I’ve found that the most reliable scientific information comes from respected peer reviewed science journals .

But journals have lots of big words, and lots of small print, and very few illustrations to make it easy for me. You can see why climate deniers don’t like them. But that’s where the facts are.

How can you tell a good science journal?

What We Know About Climate Change?
with Peter Sinclair

In this video we’ll go over some of the fundamental discoveries, the basic facts that we know beyond a doubt, about global warming. Of course, many people will never believe science, because they believe that anything that challenges their world view, is all part of a secret, global conspiracy.

Climate Denial Crock of the Week
with Peter Sinclair
It's so Cold, there can't be Global Warming!

We’ve heard a lot of talk lately from deniers that cold temperatures are proof that there is no such thing as global warming. It looks like it will be an annual event for me to remind people that winter still follows summer. Since deniers seem to want to believe the warming thing is all a lie, perhaps a little review is in order.

1998 Revisited

One of the enduring myths of climate denialism is that global warming stopped sometime in the last decade. I see it in the blaring headlines of pseudoscience websites, in comments on my videos, even some of our most “distinguished” journalists have been taken in.

Climate Denial Crock of the Week with Peter Sinclair - Creepy at the EPA

In June of 2009, a story surfaced about the alleged suppression by the US EPA of information related to climate change. The source of the information was reported to be one Dr. Alan Carlin, who, although a real EPA analyst, was in fact, an economist, not a scientist.

32000 Scientists

32,000 leading scientists signed a petition against global warming?
Is that really true? Well, no…

But to get to the bottom of this crock, we’ll have to go back in history, and meet someone who really was, at one time, a leading scientist.

Climate Denial Crock of the Week with Peter Sinclair - In the 70s, Scientists worried about an Ice Age

Everyone has a favorite decade, and for Climate deniers, that decade has got to be, the 70s.
Yes, the decade of disco, kung fu, and watergate

Because in the 70's, Deniers will tell you, All climate scientists believed an ice age was coming. Those crazy climate scientists! Why can't they make up their minds?

But is that really true?
Maybe a little historical perspective is in order.
This remix is re-edited, includes better sound, and new film clips. Definitely a Christmas must-see for Uncle Dittohead and Aunt Teabag!

Let's find out who they are and how they are bamboozling their audience.
